Our Martial Artist Creed
As a Martial Artist...
I will constantly strive for greater strength and flexibility of my heart, mind, and body.
I will practice my art daily in whatever way I can, if I can breathe I can train.
I will accept all challenges with an air of personal responsibility, reaping without apology and accepting failure without complaint.
I will seek to adapt and overcome all hardships in the most balanced way possible, seeking to aid all who I come into contact with, while adhering to principles of Honor, Discipline, and Spirit.
I will always seek the following attributes and quickly correct any flaws in my character that would be detrimental to myself and others.
I will seek to be...
Strong, but not rude;
Kind, but not weak;
Bold, but not a bully;
Thoughtful, but not lazy;
Humble, but not timid;
Proud, but not arrogant;
Humorous but without folly!
(adapted from Jim Rohn)
I will always strive to do the best I can, while empowering others to do the best they can.
As a foundation for my character I will read and put into practice the principles spoken of in "Goodness Creates Happiness" by Lau Pui Chung
